Final Fantasy VII will always be
remembered as one of the best RPG's in video game history.
What did I like about this
game?
- Amazing graphics
- Extensive amounts of maneuverability
throughout the game
- The amazing story with its many
plot twists
- The heroes and villains
FFVII offers an immense world to
explore, believable enemies, and lovable heroes.
Battles progress
in the traditional RPG way (ATB - active time battle). Characters
have a limit break (allowing for a special attack) when the limit gauge
is full. Of course, you can use magic, regular attacks (different
depending on which weapon is equipped to which character) or attempt an
escape.
Characters in FFVII are equipped with
materia (orbs inserted into slots in weapons or armor), allowing the use
of special abilities.
It is safe to say that almost every
RPG fan has spent over 30 hours playing FFVII. Despite the fact
that the main character is male (Cloud Strife), the story is so
intriguing you won't mind running around as a spiky headed guy.
What about the female
characters?
There are really two main female
characters in the game: Aeris and Tifa. Both characters are
portrayed well (although Tifa almost looks like Laura Croft in a
way). Minor flaws in female representation can be overlooked
though because the game is so incredible. Any flaws are subtle, at
most.
What did I NOT like about this
game?
There aren't any bad things about this
game worth noting.
Sephiroth is by far the most tortured
villain yet. How can you not love those green eyes?!
If you haven't played this game yet,
what are you waiting for?! Go buy it now (it's a Greatest Hits
edition now - $19.99 - so you can't go wrong).
